MyCreativeEdge and The Creative State North West

Categories: Creativity, Funding

Over the past year, inTandem has been involved with a number of European initiatives that were set up to further the Creative Industries in our region. Albeit with slightly different remits, both initiatives have had a positive impact and will hopefully continue to do so in the future.

The Creative State North West and 4CNW

The Creative State North West

Back in 2012, I first heard about the 4CNW project facilitated by The Creative State North West. "A strong coalition of key players from the fields of local government, regional development, innovation, business, enterprise and the creative community, The Creative State North West is a public private partnership that promotes cross sectoral integration, and has its origins in Sligo County Development Board’s Creative Sligo Strategy & Action Plan, 2010-12.

The Creative State North West is working with public bodies in Northern Ireland and Scotland to develop an innovation eco system, that positions the Celtic Crescent region (North West of Ireland, Northern Ireland and Scotland) as a place that offers bespoke creative solutions, to help businesses compete in the global marketplace.

4CNW Talent is a new business development programme, with a voucher fund and Creative Directory that is helping to create a profitable environment for business through collaboration with a creative partner."

After a series of steps within a formal selection process, inTandem won a contract to develop a new online presence for The Yeats Society. Starting with a complete rebranding of the logo and look & feel, we proposed not only a new website but also worked with Get Focused to develop a 12-months social media content strategy that would help the client to schedule Facebook posts, tweets and blogs articles targeted at delivering increased inbound traffic to their new website.

And for my sins, I also got to appear in one of the promotional video stories for the 4CNW initiative. But seriously, did YouTube HAVE to auto-generate that fab screen shot of me??

My Creative Edge

MyCreativeEdge "is a website which showcases the work of businesses, freelancers and jobseekers working in the creative industries sector in the West of Ireland, Northern Ireland, Västerbotten (Sweden) and Northern Finland. Its aim is to increase international business for creatives in the four regions and to improve job prospects for new creative graduates."

During the summer of 2013, the initiative made available 12 talent vouchers which would allow applicants from the creative directory to hire other creatives to carry out a business project for them. inTandem was delighted to have been selected by Cox Power Architects based in Westport to develop a new website for them. Without our listing in the creative directory, this connection would not have been made, so if you yourself are working in a creative industry in this region, make sure to get your free listing up onto the MyCreativeEdge website!
