Content Management
Here at inTandem, we offer our clients the installation of MODx CMS, a highly flexibly open-source content management systems that makes it possible for non-technical users to manage their web pages, add, edit or delete content and truly take charge of their online presence. For template-based websites, we generally work with WordPress.
Static or Dynamic Content?
As client, you have two options with regards to how the finished website is delivered to you by inTandem. For static sites with little requirement to edit or update, a simple HTML site might be all you need. That means a faster turnaround time and consequently lower cost, but any changes will need to be carried out directly in the site-code by inTandem. Basic brochure and general information sites are perfect candidates for this type of set-up.
On the other hand, sites that will need to be updated on a regular basis, i.e. with new product information, special offers or news/blog sections, can benefit hugely from being built into a content management system. Websites structured around a CMS usually take a little longer to build which means that they are somewhat more expensive up front. However, the cost and time savings that can be achieved throughout the site’s lifetime more than make up for this initial outlay.
MODx CMS
MODx CMS has been selected by inTandem Web Design as the best option on the market for its clients. Being open-source software, it is designed and supported by a strong and professional online community. Offering superb web standard support, a graphical installer, an easy to use Rich Text editor and SEO focus, MODx is an ideal choice. Open-source also means free to use - no license fees and free upgrades.
You can of course start out with a static site and later move it into a CMS, however there are certain synergy effects in development time and costs by planning a site for CMS management from the outset. Please feel free to contact us to discuss your options in more detail and to answer any other questions you might have with regards to your web design requirements.
WordPress
If you decide to purchase a website that is based on a WordPress template or theme, then you will be using this as your content management system. Wordpress does not offer as much flexibility as MODx but is absolutely sufficient for many customer's websites and is supported by a very large and active user/developer community around the word. It is a highly successful system and allows us to get a new website up and running at a lower cost. To maximise the benefits of both systems, inTandem has also developed websites based on MODx but with a built-in WordPress blog application.
Whatever your requirements are, we will find the most effective and efficient solution for you!
