Online v. Offline
It is important to understand the difference between designing for the Web as opposed to other media such as print or television as entirely different user principles apply (e.g. interactivity, typography restrictions, browser characteristics etc.). We can give you all the advice required to get your site off the ground or revise an existing one to bring it up to date with current web standards and technologies.
Template or Bespoke?
One of the most common questions clients have is whether they should simply put together a free website based on blog-style templates available from WordPress, Blogspot etc. or invest the time and money in a bespoke system. The answer really lies in what you hope to achieve with your website. There are plenty of occasions where a free blog can happily fulfill all of the requirements that you have, especially when you are looking to set up a…well…blog! But whether this is the best format to represent your business or organisation is another matter. However, there are also thousands of non-blog website templates available for purchase on the Internet, categorized by industry and style, and these should not be discounted by any means. If you find a template that meets all of your requirements, then inTandem can take care of the rest and turn it into a working website for you, whether within a CMS or not. However, if you have very specific requirements, need to make your site fit in with existing marketing materials and want to have full control over design and layout, then a bespoke option is probably the better the way to go in the long run.
